Notes on the Weather :
A lingering low pressure trough is meandering over much of the Northern and Central part of Australia. An upper level low has formed in the Tasman sea with a strong low pressure trough, and is moving east, leaving a colder SW flow over Victoria. Isolated showers will clear East and generally clear on Friday.
Conditions will be warm and become increasingly humid on the weekend, however conditions will remain mainly fine across the state. There is the possibility of afternoon showers on the ranges on Sunday, before increasing on Monday from the West with very warm to hot conditions developing. A very large system develops on the Tuesday of Cup Weekend, with rain and colder weather becoming established. Locally heavy rainfall is likely to develop on Tuesday and Wednesday for Victoria, especially east of Central areas through to Gippsland.
