Tuesday : Warm and humid, showers and afternoon thunderstorms tending to rain in the late afternoon. Locally heavy rainfall possible, mainly in the east. Moderate NE winds, shifting cooler SW in the afternoon. Rainfall 20 –30 mm

Notes on the Weather : A lingering low pressure trough is meandering over much of the Northern and Central part of Australia. A low pressure trough is over Southern Australia, and will clear on Saturday producing isolated showers and thunderstorms. Conditions will be warm and become increasingly humid on the weekend, however conditions will remain mainly fine across the state on Saturday. There is the possibility of afternoon showers on the ranges on Sunday, before increasing on Monday from the West with very warm to hot conditions developing.

A very large system develops on the Tuesday of Cup Weekend, with rain and colder weather becoming established. Locally heavy rainfall is likely to develop on Tuesday and Wednesday for Victoria, especially east of Central areas through to Gippsland. On Thursday, another upper level cold pool will approach from the SW and reinvigorate unstable and wet conditions from the West on Thursday night into Friday.
