Notes on the Weather : A lingering low pressure trough is meandering over much of the Northern and Central part of Australia. A low pressure trough is over Southern Australia, and is activating a large system stretching from the Northern Territory to Tasmania. Conditions will remain warm for the most part, as the large scale trough and associated low pressure system become slow moving and the dominant feature. Rain and thunderstorms will continue on Tuesday, before scattered thunderstorms develop on a cold front and move through Victoria on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall is likely with these thunderstorms, particularly East of Melbourne.
The system will stall on Wednesday, so rain areas with locally heavy falls will affect Eastern Victoria, whilst isolated showers will affect the Western areas. On Friday showers and thunderstorms will redevelop from the West and affect the whole state, tending to rain at times through West Central areas, and along the coast. Showers will continue on Saturday, before easing on Sunday. Yet another Low pressure system will develop on Monday with showers becoming general again, especially Southern and Mountain districts.
