Notes on the Weather : A lingering low pressure trough is meandering over much of the Northern and Central part of Australia. A low pressure trough stretches from Antarctica to Darwin, and is producing heavy rain in the eastern half of Australia. Unstable conditions will continue on Thursday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in Southern and mountain districts. A weak front will do the same on friday, spreading isolated showers from the west in the morning, more frequent along the coast.
Conditions will clear later on saturday from the west as high pressure ridges in behind the weak front. Yet another Low pressure system will develop on Monday with showers becoming general again, especially in Southern and Mountain districts. On Tuesday these showers will be coastal and then clear from the west as the next high moves in.
Following on from this, a period of fairly stable weather is likely for the Southern states from next Wednesday, as high pressure becomes dominant for a few days. This will allow the pattern to reset, and late next week another low pressure trough will start to move South from the NT and increase humidity again for the Southern part of Australia.
