Notes on the Weather : A vigorous cold front has developed today over Victoria, and winter has returned to Victoria. Scattered showers, local hail, thunder and snow down to 1200m are expected this evening. Scattered showers will persist through Southern and mountain districts. A ridge of high pressure will move in on Thursday and move eastwards into the Tasman Sea on Friday, with temperatures slowly increasing. Another low pressure trough and moisture infeed will develop on Saturday from the west, with very warm and humid conditions bringing patchy rain and isolated thunderstorms.
On Sunday cooler weather returns behind the front, and scattered showers will start to become isolated from the west and contract to Gippsland later on Sunday and into Monday. As a continuation of the pattern, a high pressure ridge moves in and brings fine and warmer weather into next Tuesday and Wednesday.
