Notes on the Weather : As a continuation of the pattern, a high pressure ridge moves in today and brings fine and warmer weather into Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesday humidity increases again as a low pressure trough develops over NSW, and dips South towards Victoria. Conditions will become unsettled again and showers will extend from the North down over Victoria. Another low pressure trough will approach from the west on Thursday and areas of rain and local thunderstorms will develop throughout from the west. This pattern will be very slow moving so locally heavy rainfall is expected across the state, most likely across the ranges and over the north.
On Friday Rain and thunderstorms will develop from the west later and reach Central Victoria in the afternoon, where it will become slow moving and persist for the better part of the weekend. A low pressure system will develop in the low pressure trough on Saturday, and widespread heavy rain with locally heavy falls will develop across much of central and Eastern Vic. On Sunday the Low will move to Gippsland and cooler showery weather will follow, with strong to gale force winds easing.
