Notes on the Weather :   A very active low pressure trough dominates the country, tropical moisture is being advected South into the trough from NW WA, an very strong upper level low is over SW WA, near Perth. Another trough is producing showers and thunderstorms across Victoria, on Friday it will be humid, and showers and thunderstorms will tend to rain in the afternoon from the west, but mainly on the ranges.

On Friday Rain and thunderstorms will develop from the west later and reach Central Victoria in the afternoon, where it will become slow moving and persist for the better part of the weekend. A low pressure system will develop in the low pressure trough on Saturday, and widespread heavy rain with locally heavy falls will develop across much of central and Eastern Vic. On Sunday the Low will move to Gippsland and cooler showery weather will follow, with strong to gale force winds easing.

Early next week we will see clearance as a high pressure ridge moves through and we see a brief return to fine weather, before another low pressure trough arrives on Wednesday and showers and thunderstorms develop from the west.
