Notes on the Weather : A very active low pressure trough dominates the country, tropical moisture is being advected South into the trough from NW WA, and a high pressure ridge is over SW WA. A cold front is laying across Victoria, with a low pressure trough through NSW.
Cooler weather has now become established across Victoria, with the passage of a cold front. Conditions will become fine and warmer on Tuesday and Wednesday, ahead of another cold front that will move through on Thursday morning. Scattered showers will develop on Wednesday afternoon and extend Eastwards across the state late in the day and over night. On Thursday a cooler SW flow will become established, with scattered showers in Southern and mountain districts.
On Friday we will see clearance as a high pressure ridge moves through and we see a return to fine weather, with temperatures warm throughout with light winds. Late in the weekend winds will become light NE and the pattern will again become humid as the next system develops for the Xmas period over WA.
