Notes on the Weather :   A very active low pressure trough dominates the country, tropical moisture is being advected South into the trough from NW WA, and a high pressure ridge is over SW WA. A cold front is laying across Victoria, with a low pressure trough through NSW.

A cold front has moved through and is now in the Tasman Sea, and a cooler SW flow is becoming established. Christmas day will be cool and mostly cloudy in the morning with isolated light showers, clearing quickly for a sunny afternoon through most of Vic. Conditions will warm on Wednesday and Thursday before a weak change produces isolated showers and thunderstorms across the state later on Thursday.

Friday will become cooler again but conditions will clear up quickly, and gradually warm over the weekend before some hot weather develops  New Years Eve, and increases on New Years Day.
